Innovative, digital printing method for traffic sign films

Multi-coloured signs had been a manually crafted combination of different films with different colours or have been lavishly produced by screen printing.
Now they can be digitally printed, thanks to an innovative procedure to white, reflective film, with all the colours in just one operation.
A conventionally produced signs, such as a map with various destination information consists of an aluminium substrate to which are applied a yellow, reflective base film, a white reflective tape for the inserts, coloured, each transparent Electrocute (EC) films, and a black marking film.
By overstickering of multilayer films on films formed on the edges of the label elements of attack for weather conditions that can eventually cause damage.

With a few components to the perfect sign

The new manufacturing process in which the sign can be printed in one operation with all the colours, symbols and writings that range, the aluminium plate as a base, a white, reflective base film, the best inks and a transparent protective film.
The data required for each sign are processed at the computer for printing and then printed with an industrial printing on the reflective film.
The protective film is then glued directly to a roll to roll laminator entire surface using heat and pressure. As an option, finally, a cutting plotter can be used to make the exact detach themselves from the respective labels printed and laminated film roles using printed cutting marks.

3M™ High Intensity Grade Prismatic Film Series 3930 (RA2, C) and
3M™ Diamond Grade™ DG³ Film Series 4090 (RA3, C).
You have the appropriate surface properties for digital printing and offer excellent reflection values.
Perfected the system of films, paints and printers through an alternative deployable protective transparent film, the digital printing to protect the long term and to stabilize the reflectance values of the base film.
It is important to choose the right functional protective laminate for long-term better visibility and readability.

  Alle Druckinformation werden direkt übernommen aus der RWB bzw. RWBA Software von der EDV – Dr. Haller & Co. GmbH www.edv-dr-haller.de. Übertragungsfehler entfallen.
• Der innovative Druckprozess ermöglicht immer wieder exakt reproduzierbare, schnelle Ergebnisse in der Fertigung. Durch eine flexiblere Planung und Produktion unter Reduzierung von Durchlaufzeiten ergibt sich auch eine schnellere Reaktion beim Austausch defekter Schilder.
• Umweltfreundliche Herstellung durch weniger Abfall in der Produktion und bessere Arbeitsbedingungen für die Mitarbeiter.

Vorteile in Bezug auf die Haltbarkeit dieser neuen Art der Beschilderung bieten schließlich die verschiedenen Schutzlaminate. Während die aufwendige Kombination von Folien und der entsprechend mehrschichtige Aufbau Umwelteinflüssen bisher zahlreiche Angriffspunkte boten, sorgen die Laminate für eine durchgehen ebene Oberfläche, die Umweltbelastungen gut widersteht.

High safety standard is maintained

Rückstrahlwerte und Farben entsprechen auch weiterhin DIN 67520 und DIN 6171-1. Mit diesem neuen Produktionsverfahren werden Folien für Verkehrs-zeichen und Wegweiser mit RAL-Gütezeichen hergestellt.
Zudem bietet 3M bis zu zwölf Jahren Funktionstüchtigkeit auf das jeweilige Endprodukt aus Folie, Druckfarbe und Oberflächen-Schutzfolie 1170, sieben Jahre auf die Kombination mit Graffiti-Schutzfolie 1160 oder Antitau-Folie 1180.
Im Einsatz ist dieses digitale Druckverfahren bereits in Deutschland, Belgien, Finnland, Griechenland, Großbritannien, Italien, Schweden und in den Niederlanden.
